Learning How to Book Talk With New Valentine's Day Books

Help me give my students new Valentine's Day books. They love reading about their favorite characters scrapes like Splat, the Crayons, and of course Pete the Cat!

My Project

My students love finding their favorite characters on the bookshelf. They gain tremendous confidence as readers when they see characters they already love and know. The vocabulary is familiar and they increase speed each time they read and reread these favorite books.

Grow our reading and speaking skills with new Valentine's Day books featuring their favorite Characters.

We will love these new books and practice book talking with our tablemates with these beloved character books. Students will learn how to do a booktalk. Then, they will have a chance to booktalk at the start of library class with a tablemate. Finally, student volunteers will be able to to share out to the class as they grow in confidence practicing book talking each week.
