My students are so excited to learn, and what better way to engage them than with technology that sparks their interests and motivates them to love learning. I hope that I can use new technology to create videos of students reading as well as accessing apps that will motivate and engage!
My students are fun-loving and so curious about the world around them.
They are eager to learn, and any chance they can get to use a computer is an exciting experience! My class loves to help one another and show such care in their actions towards each other on a daily basis. I am so lucky to be their teacher, and I hope that every day they attend school, their eyes light up with excitement as we learn and grow together. My goal as an educator is to encourage my students to be kind and intelligent people who are aware of their strengths and are motivated to give back to our society!
My Project
I will use this iPad as a tool to engage learners, particularly in reading and math. I plan to create video presentations of students reading which will then be sent to parents so that the entire family can share the excitement of their child reading. Video presentations are so motivational to students because they feel such a sense of pride when they get to "show off" just how much they are learning in class to everyone.
Technology will enhance their abilities in math also. Do you remember how boring math flash cards could be as a child? Instead, students will practice math skills on the iPad through a variety of apps. Students will be able to learn in a more motivational and interactive setting, and they will increase their technology skills in our ever changing world.
This project will engage my students to create and learn in new and exciting ways that I cannot normally provide for them on the typical PC.
