I teach 18 Kindergarten students daily. During this coronavirus pandemic, it has put a halt in being able to see the kids daily in the classroom. Our school has been shut down and will remain shut down until the new school year has begun. Using the sensory toys will show them how to calm some of their anxieties and fears that they might have during this challenging time.
My students come from various backgrounds, yet are all so eager to learn.
Throughout this year the children have become so independent as well as helpers to each other as well as myself. I know not being in the classroom has been difficult on us all. The magnetic letters are good for letter recognition and being able to build new words. The pocket number chart will assist with them being able to learn their numbers.
It is my hope to be able to continue to provide my students with what they need in order to be successful next year in first grade. I miss my students more than anyone could imagine and want to ensure that I am giving them a quality education still during this challenging time.
My Project
This will help my students to be able to visually see and touch the items as well as be able to interact with the other students. If this gets funded, then they will be able to have the visuals that they need in order to see them daily. Seeing these items daily will help reinforce what they have learned. I will be able to show the students ways in which to use the various items in order to aid in their success.
These are some of the most deserving students there are.
They are grateful for anything that they receive and are very appreciative. The students in my class are so helpful and wish to do good. The students will be able to learn how to trace the letters and numbers that they need to have mastered prior to moving forward to first grade. Being able to show the children how to make adequate lists and use the sentence building resource kit in order to teach them how to construct proper sentences. We are teaching how to write sentences and this will help with that as will the writing prompt cubes. The buzzer set will be good to use when they are in groups and trying to get them to answer as a group.
With these materials, I can use them in videos that I show weekly for my students. The students love the interaction and being able to see my face during this difficult time. The students will be able to see me visually show them examples of how they can use everyday household items to recreate some of the lessons with numbers and letters that I show them. The counting days pocket chart is good as we introduce place values.
