Kindergarten is a very busy time, in terms of learning and growing. One of the biggest challenges my students face is maintaining focus, because their bodies need to move. We make time to take movement breaks, but it's not enough. I have many children who are always moving, and need constructive outlets. We constantly have transitions and are switching activities.
Our class loves to learn and experience new things.
We are a school in the suburbs of Minneapolis, with a high percentage of poverty. We are at a Magnet School focusing on aerospace engineering.
My Project
Students need a variety of ways to learn. I have some games and I have my lessons that I keep as engaging as possible, but new games are always useful! Kindergartners need a lot of variety and things they can learn and play quickly because they can only stay focused on one thing for a short amount of time.
These games will allow the kids to practice their letters, numbers, sight words and fine motor skills independently or with a partner.
They will help kids learn social skills while they are learning academic skills. These games are guaranteed to help students stay engaged and have fun while they are learning!
