This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students in my class are from a variety of diverse backgrounds. They come from different cultures, lifestyles, family structures, and religions. My students come to school ready to learn. They enjoy hands-on activities to help them better understand what is being taught and why. As their teacher, I try my best to make every lesson as hands-on and interactive as possible to keep them engaged and wanting to learn.
Every student in our school receives free lunch, breakfast, and dinner.
Our school is located across the street from income-based housing. The majority of students walk home or are bused nearby.
My school is an older building that is Title I. Even though we are Title I and fully accredited this year, public school funding continues to dwindle year after year. I want to provide the students with as many educational experiences as possible in order to set them up for future success!
My Project
The round floor table will provide my inclusive classrooms a flexible seating option instead of the traditional desk and chair. My math and science students will be able to learn anywhere in the classroom, from our dry erase tables to being stretched out on the floor. Students love having the option to work in nontraditional spaces. The soft seating will be able to be used alone or they can use them as a stool topper for softer seating. My special education students will love having multiple seating options.
Your donation will allow my fifth grade math and science students flexible seating options as the excel in their academic!
