My fourth grade students are caring, outgoing, and creative students. They come from diverse backgrounds from all around the world. My students love exploring new activities, learning how to work together, and building social and academic skills. My students work diligently every day at our public, low socioeconomic school. We are grateful and excited to have this opportunity get our project funded!
The students in my class are innovative learners who are seeking a means to connect with diverse cultures around the world, be highly reflective in social situations, and make mindful decisions.

My Project
Have you ever felt like if you could just kick back and relax a little, you would be able to work more proficiently? Studies show that kids who are in a relaxing and comfortable learning environment are more engaged and ready to learn. My class loves that they can choose where they sit; however, their seating options are limited! My class would love a seating arrangement where they could read a good book, research with a friend, or create a project with a group. The possibilities are limitless! Students in my class really need a place they can go to work collaboratively and participate in lessons while being comfortable; my students tried to make their own comfortable seats with milk crates and foam, but they are falling apart!
My students would use this space all day long to listen, learn, and share with each other; creating an inviting and attractive learning environment is very important to my students.
It helps them feel safe, secure, and ultimately ready to learn. This project has the potential to make a really huge impact on my students who are not used to having such luxuries.
