Who is your hero? I strive to inspire my students to learn from mistakes and successes of previous leaders, explorers, scientists, and adventurers to find their inspirations. We will read, research, and collaborate to complete projects while learning about our heroes!
I work with two groups of 5th graders in language arts that are eager to learn.
Many of my students are supported through special education and together we work on strengthen their abilities. In our classroom we work on building fluency, improving attention focus, strengthening work stamina, and loving learning. During our language arts block we work on reading a variety of texts, listening to audio lessons during classroom walks, and writing using information we acquire through what we read. Although I am not their social studies or science teacher, I integrate the social studies and science topics in our lessons.
My Project
Students will read biographies and complete a biography project that will culminate with a written report and an audio or video presentation. The series of books selected are of high interest to students and I would like them to read others biographies after the projects. Students will read 1 book as part of the project but will be encouraged to read all of the titles throughout the year. The books were selected to coordinate with our science and social studies curriculum.
We are inspired by others accomplishments and learn how we can make a difference in our own world.
I want my students to find a hero and be inspired to become the best they can be!
