This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students have been affected by the sudden closure of the school. A place they went for comfort, food, and learning. They are now struggling to face this new normal. Teachers, aides, and peers have been supporting them in the classroom and now they are expected to learn at home. Homes where parents may be working. Homes where brothers and sisters are also distance learning. Homes where younger siblings may be interfering with their daily routine.
Students continue to adapt to this new way of learning.
They are all at home learning online. Review work was assigned as the stay at home order began. Eventually, students used the books they brought home to work on new learning material. Now computers are being distributed and online learning will begin shortly. We enter into this next phase stronger than ever!
My Project
Distance learning has challenged us all. Many children are learning at home with no supplies or snacks to keep them going. The rulers will help during the measurement lesson. Having the ruler in their hands will make the learning more meaningful. The erasers and pencils are supplies that they left in the classroom. The new books will continue their love of reading!
These supplies will help to foster some normalcy in their day.
The snacks will be an added bonus to the care packages I will be creating for my students. The supplies, snacks, and books will be a gift!
