Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I have a student that doesn't have access to a computer at home. He has been struggling to complete his assignments. He has three siblings in the same situation. They have no access to a computer and our school has been closed since March and they really miss coming to school. My school is located in a small urban area in South Florida.

My Project

I have a few students who are related that don't have access to a working laptop from home. They have told me that they go to their neighbor's home to use their computers. During times like this, I know that this is not safe. I am in shock of their determination to continue to learn during this difficult time. They don't have access to a laptop because our school doesn't have anymore at this time.

In order to help them, I am requesting a laptop for all of them to use at home.

One student is in kindergarten which is an important foundation year. The twins are in my class and they are in third grade. The last sibling is in fifth grade. They are all trying so hard. In order to not only keep them safe but I want to also help them continue to learn.
