My Students

My class is made up of a group of 10 wonderful students. All of the students in my classroom are classified as having significant disabilities. They are all wonderful children and they each have their own shining personality. We love spending time outside, making crafts, and reading together.

Many of my students are non-verbal, but this does not stop them from letting us know what they need, when they are happy, and helping us laugh together throughout the day.

Overall, I have a great group of students who make teaching a joy everyday.

My Project

Many of my students will seek employment in a structured facility upon graduation from high school. My students are currently in middle school and we begin working on many of those job and life skills now.

Having a real cash register and realistic money in the classroom would be a great way for my students to not only learn how to pay for items with cash/coins but also a great way for my students to learn how to work the register.

I would love for some of my students to possibly gain employment in a job that requires knowledge of using a cash register. My students would already have this practice and would be ready for that job.
