Working in a school with students that are 100% free or reduced rate lunch, my students have needs that go far beyond their academics. I want to provide a classroom with supplies that will give them the best experience in third grade! We work to engage our students in the best ways possible. I want my students to enjoy coming to school and having an engaging classroom environment is the ticket to success for that. I have students at all different levels and with different needs and personal interests. I want to provide a classroom environment that meets everyone's needs and wants in the classroom. I expect a lot from my students because I believe each one of them can succeed and I want to provide them with the tools to help them reach their goals.
My Project
My students will benefit from these materials in many ways. The fraction manipulatives will help them gain the hands-on experiences that they need to understand fractions. They will be able to see how the pieces fit together to make a whole. They work on fluency with math facts each time we have downtime during restroom breaks or other times we are waiting in line. They love to quiz each other on their facts with flash cards.
My students love reading more when they have books they are excited about!
They love the books that Mo Willems writes and are so excited to read more books by him! These books are engaging and fun, but also help them continue to grow as readers.
