Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have great imaginations and enjoyed playing different games with classmates in and outside of class time.
Kindergartners are so special......they remind me of how simple the world can be because they are still innocent and genuine.
They came from working class families and were eager to learn at school. Hands on learning created meaningful experiences for these students. When introducing new hands on learning materials and technology to them, they viewed those items as precious items they have yearned to experience. They have great imaginations and enjoyed playing different games with classmates in and outside of class time.
My Project
I believe a strong foundation in the development of mathematical skills begins with counting and understanding and identifying numbers, knowing how to add and subtract. This is why I want to make my math block as interactive as possible so students can enjoy learning.
Financial literacy and number sense go together and number sense is huge focus in kindergarten.
Number sense essentially refers to a student’s fluidity and flexibility with numbers. Financial literacy refers to the set of skills and knowledge that allows an individual to make informed and effective decisions with all of their financial resources.
The chart I am requesting will help teach financial literacy concept to my students. I plan to give out Mrs. Xiong dollars when they do great in school. Students can earn extra dollars by going up on each step of the behavior management chart. I am also requesting the match middle mounds and chart/story sequencing instant learning centers so after learning about financial literacy they can create their own stories and learn now to write their own stories about how to save and spend money.
Thank you for donating to this project and helping my kindergartners to be successful in learning.
