Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up." ~Pablo Picasso. Art promotes creativity. Art boosts critical thinking. Art is everything that Kindergarten students need! Through art, my students could build fine motor skills and stamina to work.

We have limited learning supplies at our school, which includes art supplies.

My job is to provide students as many experiences as possible while they are in my classroom. Each day, my students enter our classroom with a big smile. They come to school to learn and to experience something new every day. I offer non-traditional, hands-on experiences as well as other effective strategies, but I found art has been always a fun way to engage students and express themselves. With the trays, students will be able to place their supplies and use this space to create their projects. My primary goal is to teach children to be self-directed learners who seek resources to find answers.

With visual arts and books, children can learn to read, write, investigate, communicate, and socialize in a fun, meaningful manner. I want to be able to expose them to Filipino culture as our focus for AAPI month in May. With your donation, all children can put a smile on their faces and proudly say, "Look what I made!"
