Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help our students develop real-life skills to promote their independence and help prepare them for the world outside our classroom. We are creating a life skills classroom to teach our students the essential activities of daily living they need to help them participate at home, in the community, and in the workforce. Our students will be able to practice shopping for groceries, stocking shelves, managing a cash register and packing groceries with the Freestanding Wooden Fresh Mart Grocery Store. The Laundry Playset Wooden Stacking Washer and Dryer, Life Skills Fine Motor Silverware Wrapping Kit and Life Skills Fine Motor Hardware Assembly Kit will help our students to practice housecleaning and home maintenance.

Our students need to learn these essential skills to increase their independence and prepare them for life beyond the classroom.

By incorporating these activities into daily instruction we hope to give our students the tools they need to be productive members of their communities.
