My Students

I have a wonderful, creative class of third graders who are eager to learn. The students I teach are working at a varying degree of academic levels. I am incredibly grateful to work at an innovative, supportive school. Soaring Heights PK-8 was opened this year and values meaningful, project-based learning, opportunities for design thinking, social-emotional learning and the integration of technology into the classroom.

My students are excited to actively engage in learning.

They light up whenever we are able to start a new book, project or writing assignment. My students inspire me every day. My goal is to inspire students to reach their full potential and continue their path of academic excellence. They are the future, thank you for helping me to support them!

My Project

A simple machine Lego kit will provide my students with the opportunity to understand how machines work through a hands-on experience. In third grade, students are learning the design thinking process and the basics of building. Through our innovative curriculum, our next unit is focused on space in which students will be designing a rocket ship that includes simple machines.

Not only will these tools be used for academic purposes, but additionally these Legos will be available to students as they develop their social-emotional skills.

As a part of our morning routine, students are presented with a challenge to build a model of something that may share information about their passions, background knowledge or feelings. I am excited to use these materials to support a variety of different academic content areas and projects.
