What happens when students have space to spread out and try new things? Personalized learning takes off as students create innovative ways to show what they know as they grow.
All students at our K-12 Title I school are amazing learners.
With a 100% graduation rate, we dial into what makes them want to learn. The students love hands-on projects and working with friends and classmates. Those experiences make our school a personalized learning experience for each one of them.
My Project
We want to finish the redesign of our library space from a book storage room to a collaborative learning commons. With no librarian or library aide in our small K-12 school, the library sat unused to its potential, so students jumped in to clean it up and make it a better instructional space.
Since last year's project, students now use the library as a music classroom, and a green screen wall has been painted for video projects!
By redesigning the space to accommodate both books and learning space, students have more room to explore their interests and make learning their own. However, the library still needs some work to complete this vision.
Last year, DonorsChoose helped us buy new furniture for the library. We want to finish the project with a new check-out desk, movable shelving, and some lighting for our new green screen wall. Students are beginning to gather in the space as is; you can help us create a space that honors their desires to learn collaboratively.
