Learning Comfortably

My students need choices for seating. (Yoga balls, stools, portable desks) Sitting in uncomfortable positions isn't conducive to learning. I want my students to be able to choose what seating works best for them.

My Students

I am truly excited for the 2018-2019 school year to begin. I have completely revamped my room and am excited to try out new ideas. One new idea I would like to implement is flexible seating.

I would love for students to have options when they it comes to seating.

Creating a warm and comfortable environment for the students allows for more student engagement and higher levels of learning.

I have already had the pleasure of teaching some of the upcoming 4th graders throughout this past year, and I feel like I already know most of them. This group of students is excited about 4th grade, and I want to do my part to make sure that they have a wonderful experience in my classroom.

My Project

With students having a choice between yoga balls, stools, and portable desks, this will help them to learn in a comfortable environment. I know that when I can't get comfortable, I tune the speaker out and focus on getting comfortable. I believe that if students can choose between a variety of seating options, focus will improve.

Also, students will also be proud of their classrooms and the choices they are able to make within their own classrooms.

Very few classrooms within our school that offer yoga balls, stools, and portable desks. This would be a welcomed addition to our classroom.
