Learning Coding Offline Using Classroom Basics - Markers and Stickers!

Help me give my students black chisel-point sharpies and circle dot labels! Although there are many occasions to use these basic supplies, they will specifically help my students with our robotics unit!

My Students

Our students compete at the local, state, and national level.

Middle-school students in our Technology Student Association (TSA) are learning to lead in a technical world.

Our students exemplify the following principles of leadership: Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process, Enable Others to Act, and Encourage the Heart.

Here are a some of the categories our students compete in: Coding, STEM Animation, Invention and Innovation, Electrical Applications, Microcontroller, Problem Solving, Mechanical Engineering, CAD Foundations, Website Design, Dragster, Junior Solar Sprint, Tech Bowl, and Technical Design.

My Project

In our Technology and Engineering class, we have access to a class set of Ozobots. These little robots are a great introduction to coding and robotics. During the first few days of the unit, we use the Ozobots offline. We use markers to draw black lines, and the Ozobot uses the line follower to travel the line.

New markers and pre-printed stickers with codes will ease the frustration with the offline coding of Ozobots.

When students have early success, they are motivated to keep going later, when things get tough.

Thank you for supporting my students in their quest to learn more about coding and robotics!
