This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My kindergarten students all live in Marion County, SC. We were recently displaced from our home school due to Hurricane Michael. Two other district schools welcomed us into their schools. We are currently housed at Easterling Primary School in Marion, SC. My children are excited to learn and enjoy school. Marion County is a high poverty area and many of the children I teach have lots of emotional, social, and educational needs that I strive to support. The children I work with appreciate the simplest things and I am fortunate to be able to help them be successful.
My Project
We use learning centers every day in my classroom. The magnetic boards and magnetic alphabet letters will be put to good use as we are in need of learning center materials. We need the listening center to expose children to all types of reading materials and to help them learn concepts of print. These materials will help the children learn basic literacy skills as they begin to learn to read and write.
We are desperately in need of learning center materials will be used to create fun and engaging learning activities for the children to use in reading and writing.
We are excited to begin learning with these materials.
