My students need hands-on differentiated learning centers, including a nursery rhyme kit, puzzles and magic boards, that focus on the skills needing to be practiced and mastered.
The more exposure and experiences that students have with content, the more likely they will learn and retain the information. Practicing skills with a pen and pencil does not meet the needs of all learners. Many students need to interact with the content and with their peers.
My students live in different areas of Philadelphia and attend our charter school in North Philadelphia.
We are an inclusion classroom with many different learning styles, personalities and needs. We have small group learning all throughout the day to give students content instruction on their level and give them immediate feedback to help them understand the material.
My Project
The learning centers will give students an opportunity to practice skills that they are working to master. The learning centers are interactive which helps to meet the learning styles of students that are active learning. The learning centers help build friendship between all students as they can show teamwork and help one another to complete the activity.
All students will learn in our classroom and this project will enable students to practice skills on their level and build relationships with their peers.
Students will enjoy learning and engaging with the content. This project will help to bring joy as students learn and grow!
