Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are all from the same neighborhood. Most of them have been together since kindergarten. They are all like a family.
At our school, we pride ourselves on our ability to strive for greatness even when we often lack the resources to achieve it.
We overcome obstacles, as students rarely have access to and can bring the basic school supplies on the first day of school. There is little support at home, so students often must do twice as much work to catch up and be at grade level and the students who are at grade level must challenge themselves to achieve more.
My Project
Students can learn anywhere. Outside they witness phenomena and wonder; this could be a teachable moment, however, students need to be able to write down their thoughts and what they see.
Clipboards will allow learning to take place away from desks and tables.
Students can take learning outside where we can observe and learn about the world around us. The clipboards can also be of use in the classroom, as we move away from a traditional classroom setup towards flexible learning wherein students can learn in various spaces around the room, clipboards can help by being the hard surface upon which students record their newfound knowledge!
