We are a 2nd grade classroom in a Title I school. In our classroom, we work each day to be the best version of ourselves. Some days are easier than others, but in our classroom, we do second chances, accept mistakes and build each other up.
Some of my students have some unstable things happening in their lives, so I want to make sure they know they are welcome each and every day in our classroom and know that I will always give them my best.
I want my students to leave each day feeling great about what they have accomplished. I want them to know they are cared about no matter what.
My Project
Currently we only have six sets of headphones in our classroom for our 21 students. A few are ripped and a few just don't work. This means students end up using computers without headphones. This makes the classroom loud as students need to turn up the volume to hear which, in turn, makes students around them unable to hear their computers. If each students had headphones, they could find a quiet spot in the classroom and really focus on their online work.
We need headphones and books on CD.
This would open up the option for a listening station. I have two CD players in the classroom, but not enough headphones or listening resources for all students to utilize. Having these items would drastically change the way my kids learn and give them much better focus.
