Ms. Bailey from Houston TX is requesting instructional technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a classroom radio/CD player and wireless headphones to connect to the Smartboard during workstations.

My little Busy Bees are a bunch of five-year-old sponges that absorb anything that is thrown their way. For some, the only schooling these young minds receive is in the seven and a half hours that I have with them each day. I want to be able to set the foundation for future learning in my students, but my classroom is very limited in the resources that are available. Many of my students were highly affected by Hurricane Harvey, yet they still manage to come to school excited and eager to learn every day. Due to Hurricane Harvey, some of my students are displaced and are living in foster care, or are living in shelters, or are being raised by their grandparents, or are living with older siblings and other relatives. Others are in households where the parents are young parents themselves and are high school drop-outs.
My amazing Busy Bees LOVE using our classroom Smartboard, especially during literacy and math workstations! They get so excited using the Smartboard, which at times causes a distraction to the other students. The wireless headphones will allow my students the opportunity to move and interact with the SmartBoard without being tethered to the speakers. This will also allow for multiple students to utilize the SmartBoard at once.
The set of wireless headphones will keep the noise level down which will prevent the other students from being excited and distracted by allowing them to focus to complete the tasks at hand.
We are also in need of a new, durable, versatile and easy to use radio/CD player in our classroom for use during small group rotations that we implement in our classroom every day. This particular CD player has a remote that will allow me to have easy access to start and stop the player without being distracted from the small group I am working with. We will also use this CD player for multiple brain breaks we do throughout the day. Please help me get these much needed items into our hive!
