Mrs. Coleman from Hyattsville MD is requesting supplies through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need seat sacks to store and have kid friendly access to materials and supplies.

Starting school is a big deal for young children and it helps them to gain more independence. This is the feeling I desire for my students to have. By providing students with seat sacks they will have access to learning materials at their finger tips. This will increase instructional our time.
I teach in a Title 1 school in MD.
This means that many of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch due to their parents income. In addition my school has a high ESOL population with English being a 2nd or sometimes every 3rd or 4th language for my students. I love working with this student population although it can be challenging it is also rewarding. Families often need assistance with meeting their children's day to day needs in addition learning how to navigate an English speaking country and school system.
Seat sacks are an inventive yet simple classroom tool. These sacks fit snugly on the back of student chairs and allows them to store important materials such as books and journals. These are great tools because little kindergarten students sit at tables to promote their social development and interaction with their peers. However, tables don't allow students to have storage for their supplies. Without these tools teachers spend precious minutes of instructional time passing out materials or helping students to look for misplaced items. I would like to cut down on these incidents and allow both my teaching time and my students' learning time to be utilized effectively.
We need seat sacks to help us remain organized and on task.
These tools will add precious minutes back to our instructional day allowing both teachers and students to focus on the most important part of the school day, LEARNING!
