My Students

I currently work at a special school for students with disabilities. My class this year has several students with Autism as well as other coexisting disabilities such as Attention Defecate Hyperactivity Disorder and Other Heath Impairments. My students are between 9-10 years old and we are classified as a fourth grade classroom. We are a self contained classroom but I do try to give my students inclusion opportunities whenever possible.

My Project

The digital materials requested (Flocabulary, BrainPOP, and BrainPOP Jr.) will be instrumental in the academic success of my student while they learn at home or in the classroom when we return. My students have a difficult time focusing and remaining engaged without staff prompting and one to one support. Due to the disabilities that affect my students it is impairing to have highly preferred and engaging activities that we can do together as a class or the students can complete some things "independently " with adult supervision. My students try very hard to remain on task during virtual learning, however, without interactive, visual resources this task becomes more difficult for my "special" kids.
