My class is full of creative, caring, and hard-working students. These are kids who are willing to work hard despite coming from difficult home situations. Our district recently had significant cuts to funding due to budget cuts, and finding money for classroom supplies and equipment is extremely difficult.
We are a Title I school with 100% of the students receiving free breakfast and lunch at school.
Many students have a history of trauma in their lives and need a space where they can feel comfortable as they learn.
My Project
This school year we have been fully remote. Remote learning presents many challenges. One of the biggest of these challenges is having the right materials to help in that learning.
This project will give my students the tools they need to succeed while learning remotely.
This project has materials we need to learn math concepts. It is very hard to learn to tell time without having a clock in your hand. This project will give them that tool as well as others so that they can use concrete models to learn important math concepts.
