During the school closure, I have many students in my pre-k that do not have tablets to use for distance learning. My class has twenty children. Of those children, thirteen are ELL.
It is difficult for parents to help their child with worksheets that are not written in their primary language.
My goal is to help my students learn and feel secure by seeing me everyday and their friends. We need to build a new form of normal. Distant learning with tablets is going to be the new normal for our students.
My Project
This is a very trying time for both children and parents. With schools closed, teachers and students separated. Students need the ability to see their friends, even if it is only on SeeSaw.
These tablets will give all my students the ability to learn and see me each day and their friends at home.
They will be able to continue to build the skills they need to be ready for kindergarten.
Students will read, write and share their experiences each day with their classmates. This will help build their academic skills, as well as their social and emotional skills.
