This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Are you a visual learner? Do you need to connect a picture to a word or concept in order to remember it? These days, many students are visual learners who need a visual cue to help them remember information. Many of my Arabic language students benefit from seeing new vocabulary in pictures.

I am a high school Arabic teacher working with students in the inner-city.

At our school, we only offer the foreign languages of Chinese and Arabic. It is amazing to witness how many of my students have taken on the challenge of learning Arabic and are always looking for ways to further their knowledge of the language.

My Project

Because it is so important for students to have access to the resources necessary in order to learn, I am requesting this set of visual Arabic-English dictionaries. This additional resource will help students expand their vocabulary without feeling that their access to new words is limited. These dictionaries will enable students to access, acquire, and learn Arabic language while working across various activities in the classroom and at home.

This grant will fund a number of Arabic dictionaries that help students learn the language through words and pictures.

These dictionaries will offer students an additional avenue to learning the Arabic language. These materials can further students' reading, writing and speaking of the language. My students would greatly benefit from having access to this resource. These dictionaries will enhance the learning of another language.
