I have 17 wonderful students. They enter our classroom each morning full of hope and eager to start the day. They enjoy spending time together and they enjoy learning together. They love learning more about reading, writing, math, science and art.
I teach at a high poverty school, and about sixty-five percent of my students participate in the school's free or reduced price lunch progam.
My students are very active at school and they love working as a whole class, in small groups, with a partner and by themselves.

My students work hard all day. They are very engaged in learning and they love to work together.

As a first grade teacher, I spend a lot of time teaching small groups of students. We have small groups for reading, writing and math.
My students also love having flexible seating in our classroom. We have some bean bag chairs, wiggle stools and camping chairs in our room. These are great options for when the students are working by themselves or with a partner. This floor table would allow me to have small groups sit together on the floor. I know that my students would love to use this table!
