Learning And Playing with Ozobots!

My students need Ozobot robots and supplies to learn coding!

My Students

My computer lab is a hub of energy and excitement. Over 1,300 students from Pre-K through 5 visit our two labs each week and use technology to learn and explore. They are products of a technology age, and we are there to guide their exploration and learning through technology.

Our population is very diverse.

We have many nationalities, cultures and abilities. We are a Title One school and in a very low-income community where most children receive free lunch. We have an in-depth special education program, a gifted and talented program and a dual language program. My computer lab is used by students in Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade, and many teachers too! An elementary school classroom is like no other place in the world. We are a home for our little ones for seven hours a day. Teachers not only provide an education in math, reading and other school subjects; we provide stability, love, acceptance and support for our amazing little people. We educate the whole child. Personally, I strive to teach values, love and acceptance in my room as well.

My Project

My students need Ozobot robots to learn how to code! Ozobots are programmable, smart robots for playing and learning. The Ozobot robots use an application to allow students to create color coded mazes and paths. Even my youngest students will take turns "driving" our new bot! They are learning coding skills and having fun too!

My students need to be exposed to new technology and learn how to manipulate it.

They are growing up in a world where their future careers don't exist yet. They need a skill set that will allow them to adapt and be comfortable with new technology. Programming Ozobots will be fun and educational too!
