My Students

Hello, I am a kindergarten teacher. We are a Title I school district, meaning there is a high economic need in our community. Our students come from variety of different ethnic background and our school community is very diverse. Our school and community had been unexpectedly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. One minute we were at school teaching our students , following a schedule, following routines, and in the blink of an eye our lives have changed including how our students are learning.

The COVID-19 pandemic has increased my drive to make certain my students will have what they need to learn and be nurtured while they are learning from home.

For many of our students, school is the one place where most, if not all, their needs were taken care of. Now that our school is closed to our students, I feel the need to help them in anyway I can. I want them to know that I still care about them and their needs are my priority.

My Project

The resources I have requested will support my students’ home learning. Many of my students need supplies and unfortunately they do not have access to these resources at home. My students will be able to complete their daily assignments and my parents will not have worry about spending money on supplies while trying to keep other bills paid.

My students will learn about compassion because they will discover that generous supporters, along with myself, care about them and want them to not only be successful, we want them to be kind when times are hard.

In addition to the crayons and watercolor paints, I am requesting the following resources for my students to help them learn from home. The Primary Journals and pencils will allow my students to continue to improve their writing skills. Before our school closed we were teaching our students how to write sentences. I would love for them to have the journals to keep practicing.

I want my students to have some fun at home while learning therefore I am also requesting LEGO sets, STEM resources, Doodle Pads, bubbles, and snacks so they can have some fun and have something to eat during their time at home. Teaching in a low income school district, I understand the importance of caring for the entire child.

This project means the world to me. I have never wanted something more for my students than I do now. I would love to see this project get funded and I thank you for reading my project and supporting teachers and students during this difficult time.
