My students need four tablets with headphones to help engage them in their learning and provide reinforcement for tasks that are difficult for them.

My Students

I teach a wonderful group of prekinders with special needs. My students are learning how to communicate their wants and needs, identify and manage their emotions, and learn school readiness skills, as well as how to count, and identify letters and numbers.

My students are sweet, loving, and enjoy opportunities to engage in the world around them in new, fun ways.

We incorporate different seating options, center opportunities, and engage in meaningful play to help every child access their learning. I am constantly learning from them and their unique way of seeing the world.

My Project

My students need access to visuals to understand directions, process information, communicate, and manage difficult transitions. Tablets are a portable, easy to use method of accessing these visuals in the form of pictures, videos, and songs. Tablets will allow my students to engage in developmentally appropriate math and literacy games that are both engaging and meaningful to them. Technology is also a meaningful way of reinforcing positive behaviors in students with special needs. These tablets will be used by individual students and by small groups, and with the cases, are durable enough to travel with them throughout the school day.
