My Students

My students enjoy coming to school each day, where they can learn in a safe, secure, and friendly environment. I work for a district which is high poverty; 100 percent free and reduced lunch. Many of my students are also wards of the state and are placed in foster homes. My students all have significant learning disabilities that require adaptations in every subject I teach. As an educator, I know that making my students comfortable is just as important as teaching them.

My Project

I would like to take our students on a field trip to a children's museum. This trip will help them to learn about the world around them, careers, and community leadership. The students will learn by pretending to be firefighters, mail carriers, and construction workers. This trip would help the students meet their IEP goals of improving their fine and gross motor skills. The students will also learn about STEM subjects during the visit, and discover skills that will last them the rest of their lives. Please give us the opportunity to enrich our children's lives with this field trip experience.
