Our great students have a desire to learn, to grow, and to become great citizens. I love seeing their spark to learn and just to do terrific things with their lives. As a teacher, if I can do things to help these students succeed in all aspects of their lives, then I have done my job.
Even though my students attend an inner city school, in South Carolina, they are rich with enthusiasm and hope.
These students are hard workers who really have a desire to learn and just need adults to help them reach their potential.
My Project
We are requesting pencils, a sharpener, construction paper and a Cricket machine. This project will go a long way in helping all of my diverse students learn and grow in a 21st century way. These supplies take learning concepts and turns learning into creating. When children can create something real learning occurs. Students need 21st century skills today for jobs and college.
The students love learning and this project will help encourage their growth and love for learning.
If a student can create and explain a concept then that is when deep learning takes place. Please help my students be able to experience real life learning and gaining skills that will help them be successful in the real world.
The students will use the cricket to create cutouts of historical figures, places, and/or events. The students will use the cutouts to create project boards for some standards that we teacher. The cricket will give students hands on learning with technology. We are a STEM school so we have to incorporate technology and science into our social studies curriculum.
The cricket will be used for multiple projects. We can also use the cricket to create items for our fundraiser to hopefully go to the 2020 (2021) Presidential Inauguration event in Washington, DC. The pencils are need because I go through about 20 pencils a week and the children go through pencil sharpeners. Thanks again!
