This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"We wish there were more activities and games during math centers!" My college-bound kindergarten students are eager to practice their burgeoning math skills, but we don't have enough resources or games during math centers to help them hone these skills.

My students are Kindergarten Leaders in Southern California.

At our school, more than 80 percent of our students are eligible for free or reduced lunch. We are part of a network of charter schools that was featured in the documentary, "Waiting for Superman." We are committed to ensuring that all of our students go to and through college. By providing my students with math resources and games that meet their needs, we will be laying the foundation for success in college and life.

My Project

I am requesting enough addition games so all of my students will have a diverse selection of activities to complete during our daily math center block. They will be able to select a game that they can play independently and that meets their personal needs. Not only will this allow them to practice their new addition skills, but it will also allow me to deliver small group instruction without worrying if my students are engaging in worthwhile activities. By giving them math games like Simple Addition Partner Game, Slide and Count Simple Addition Center and Addition Match Ups that are tailored to their needs, they will hone their math skills and be ready to tackle more rigorous math concepts in the near future.

The math games are very important to fulfilling the mission of our school and to mastering the California State Standards.

By becoming strong mathematicians in kindergarten, my students will be set up for academic success throughout the rest of their schooling. Only donors like you can make this project a reality for my students. Please consider donating today to help ensure all of my students become Math Leaders!
