My Students

Do you remember getting excited about something you learned in school? Did you go home and spend part of your afternoon exploring information related to that topic and thinking about what you might want to be when you grew up? Sadly, many of my inner city students have no access to books, tools, or computers outside of school. Luckily, they have access to all these things through our school library every day. My job is to try to fill it with the materials they need to explore topics that catch hold of their imaginations.

In our urban 6th to 8th grade school, we support an incredibly diverse group of young people.

Our school library is an essential resource for students. Creating a space where books, computers and hands-on learning connect allows all students the ability to explore topics and think about possibilities they might never have known existed. By providing excellent print and digital resources, students are able to see the bigger picture of what school is ultimately all about.

My Project

Adding digital resouces to our library is critical during distance learning. I can use the digital environment to create exhibits, displays, and activities that encourage and inspire learning whether students are in my physical library or my digital one.

Providing students with robust, high interest online materials is critical during remote learning.

It is more important than ever to have materials that grab hold of students and encourage them to explore.

Time Edge is a great resource for the library right now because it is delivered digitally. It is a resource that we can use whether students are learning in person or from home. We are determined to provide excellent resources wherever our students are.
