Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are curious, dynamic, intelligent, and leaders. With every new skill they learn, I myself grow. My students are diverse, reaching from various economic levels as well as cultural. Their ability to use their diversity as a jumping point in learning is what inspires me most. Although some may not be afforded the opportunities that others may have, their tenacity is what keeps me wanting to help level the playing field as much as I can. My students keep me growing and I hope to help them continue to grow.
My Project
This year, in teaching geography, I believe that it lends itself to some great project based learning opportunities. In doing so, I will be needing ways to connect to the outside world to speak to community members and experts. With the proper technology, we will be able to tackle some real world problems and learn from people all over the world.
It is with the intention of broadening my students' horizons that I am creating this project.
With the use of the iPad Pro 12.9 inch, my students will be able to FaceTime with people from all over. They will also be able to use the software in the iPad to do research and format their projects that they will be able to print out using the HP 62 ink cartridges. The iPad case would serve to help protect the iPad from possible damages and allow the students to continue to use the iPad. Through these materials, the students will be able to learn beyond the walls of the schools and inspire them to make real world connections.
