My students need books about the environment, activity books that will help teach them ways they can help our environment, and maps/globes to show them our world.
Even the youngest students need to know what they can do to help keep the environment clean and healthy. My students love to learn about Earth Day and they can help the planet by recycling. Teaching children now about saving the planet will help their futures
My students are five and six year old kindergarten children who are just beginning their journey through school.
Daily my students are asking me many questions like, "Why are animals becoming extinct?", "What is happening to the Polar Bears habitat?", and "What does it mean to be GREEN?". I want to be able to help them understand our environment and what is happening to it and how they can help.
My Project
I believe young students need to learn through a variety of different ways. One way is through play and hands on materials. I would love to have activities like art projects, hands-on activities and music that reinforces saving the environment. The globes and maps will help show my students how big the world we live on is and how much we need to conserve. The books and lessons will help me teach the students what they can do to help our environment. This ties into our science lessons and science and discovery are a big interest for many students and I would like to build that interest for even more of my students in the future.
Your help will allow me to inspire my students to begin a life-long habit of recycling and reducing waste.
I want to make a difference in their lives for years to come by teaching them the importance of conservation by reducing waste, recycling and re-using materials. Please help us take our first steps to becoming "green".
