My Students
My second grade students are ready and eager to learn! Given the right tools, I am confident that they can accomplish any goal set before them.
These students come from a variety of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, but all share a common love of technology and learning.
They are excited for a new year in a new classroom with new tools to help them be successful. They beam with excitement when a new skill is mastered, and they are able to share their accomplishments with family and friends.
My Project
Providing my students with the Osmo Pizza Shop kits and Big Money game will allow them to learn financial literacy. In the Osmo kit the students will simultaneously work through virtual pizza orders and payments while also using the hands-on pizza building parts and play money. They will learn how to pay for items as well as make change. The Big Money learning game will help my students to learn the value of different bills as well as coins. Both of these items will assist my students in meeting the state standard for learning about the value of money as well as how to apply the skills in the real world.
