This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our Pre-K classroom is filled with laughter and learning each and every day. Many children come from single-parent homes and all of the children are receiving free breakfast and lunch each day. For many of these children, school is their safe haven and I want to give them the best that I can.
My children are three and four years old and in school for the very first time.
Our day is filled with many activities. We are reading, coloring, singing, playing, and moving all day long. My children are energetic and eager to learn all that they can!
My Project
My little learners are learning all about our classroom centers. I am almost ready to introduce our Reading and Relaxing Center to them, but would like to bring a few more items into this center first. I would like to have books about money. I feel that it is important, even for 4-year-olds, to learn about coins, saving and spending money. The books I chose have favorite characters such as Curious George and The Berenstain Bears to teach about money concepts. I also chose lots of non-fiction books that have vibrant photos of paper money and coins. I would also like to have one comfy chair for the children.
This chair would complete this center and provide one more relaxing place for my children to snuggle with their money books and a stuffed animal friend and read or to visit when they just need to relax and calm down.
I know my children would love these great additions to our Reading and Relaxing Center.
