I teach science to all three classes in our second grade. My students are an eager and enthusiastic diverse group of children who are always ready to learn. I strive to give them opportunities to let their creativity flourish and to investigate their world.
These kids deserve every opportunity to express their creatively and explore their curiosity - they are hungry to learn more each day, and are always looking for ways to demonstrate their learning.
They are passionate, imaginative, and creative and it is my responsibility as their teacher, to foster these traits and help them learn and grow through these qualities.
My Project
Part of our upcoming life science unit of study is learning about the life cycles of various living things. We will be reading about them for the most part, but it would be amazing to have my students actually experience these different life cycles first hand!
We are requesting learning materials to take these concepts from their textbooks and into their classroom and your donation will allow my students to observe and learn about the life cycles of frogs, crickets, ants, painted lady butterflies and Luna moths.
Having tangible and "before their eyes" life cycle experiences will bring our unit of study to life and create a lasting and memorable lesson for all the students that come through my class.
