Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a Title I school with students from second to sixth grade. My students are from the inner city and mostly English language learners. They are hardworking, self-motivated young people who are eager to be lifelong learners.
The school's philosophy focuses on leadership skills, with an emphasis on being a critical thinker, scholarly and use 21st century skills when working in and outside of the classroom.
My scholars want to be the first in their families to attend an institution of higher learning.
My Project
All the materials being requested will be incorporated into our daily curriculum, that will focus on building financially aware students. Creating opportunities for all students to learn how finance plays a role in our daily lives is crucial.
Financial literacy for students is vital to helping ensure financial wellness for my students and communities as a whole.
The board games provide an insight into how finances should be managed. The Books will help reinforce financial lessons learned. The Swivl will be used as students present their finding to their peers. Being financially literate is an important life skill you would be helping develop.
