Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

5th Graders from our classrooms are excited to engaged in project based learning activities. They are researching on their iPad to learn about the Early People in the Western Hemisphere. The knowledge they obtained will help them reflect on how early people used resources to develop an unique culture and make thoughtful decisions about settlement.

Throughout this module of study, we are encouraging scholars to learn about the past to better understand the present.

They will ask and answer questions. Also demonstrate mastery through different projects and tasks. It is our goals to provide students with access to multiple forms of information to facilitate research.

My Project

Scholars in the 5th grade are working towards taking more ownership of their learning. Therefore, we are focusing on personalized instruction . As we begin our next module, scholars will engage in Project Based Learning activities to further promote student ownership.

To actively participate in tasks and promote cognitive engagement in activities they will need multiple resources to best facilitate learning experiences.

Britannica Launchpack for Social Studies provides access to multiple tools to deepen their knowledge of content. Also, allows scholars to access content at their own pace and meeting their individual learning needs. As a result, 5th graders will engage in blended literacy lessons that include articles and artifacts to access electronically.
