I provide speech and language therapy to amazing, hard-working elementary school students with speech and/or language disabilities. Some of my students have co-occurring disabilities (e.g., autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, etc).
My students love learning!
These students benefit from a multi-sensory approach, which means they learn best when lessons involve engaging more than one sense at a time. We do this through many methods including reading, listening to stories and playing games.
They are also more engaged when there is a mix of visual, auditory and kinesthetic input throughout the lesson. It is important to use these children's strengths to help them reach their full potential.
My Project
This project includes books to add to the speech and language library of an elementary school. These books and materials will help my students with speech and language disabilities meet their goals while learning about diversity and other social-emotional topics such as kindness, compassion, sharing, and friendship.
This book lot includes books featuring different cultures, diversity, accepting the differences of others, and kindness.
This allows my students to see themselves as well as different people in the books we incorporate into our speech and language therapy sessions. Help these children celebrate themselves and others while engaged in great literary activities!
