My students need Scholastic News to learn about current event issues in order to be informed about issues occurring around the world and exposing them to new information.
I am a teacher in a family low-income/high poverty school district. Many of my students face several challenges both in and out of the classroom. I try my best to provided them with opportunities to mentally explore their minds with activities and reading materials and expose to new things.
The students like to move around and sit all around the room when reading.
They love to read and love lots of positive attention. They are creative thinkers. The students are always willing to help out another student in the classroom and they ensure none of their classmates are left out. I try to build a positive teacher-student relationship to make our classroom a positive environment to walk in to every morning with a growth mindset attitude. I may not be able to control their experiences at home, but I try to make their experiences in the classroom an exciting learning experience by praising their academic growths.
My Project
The donations to this project for scholastic news will help to improve my students' understanding of different issues and events happening around the world. It will expose them to new places they haven't learned about yet. It will help the students develop new ideas and practice having discussions by sharing their thoughts on the issues occurring.
The students will be able to lead discussions and develop their own inferences of the issues and topics they will be reading about in the magazines.
It will lead the students to want to do research to expand their knowledge and curiosity on the topics and share the new information with their classmates.
