Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom and students are happy to be at school. They love their teacher and are excited about growing up in the future. Their skills are improving each day and are engaged in their learning. Our classroom activities are geared to excite each student and make them want to learn more. We are now learning about the state they live in Arizona. The class made Saguaro Cactus and we are now creating the Sonoran Desert out of cardboard, sand, and rocks. The students are engaged and are wanting to learn more about their state. In order to do so we need to have more glue and art supplies to finish our project.
My Project
All students use scissors, glue, and construction paper to make their academic program come alive. Students need to learn the basic skill of cutting and some of my special needs students are still learning to cut. Construction paper is often scarce and teachers have to buy their own to provide colored paper to the students. Many students can't afford tools for school and the schools are also running short on essential supplies to allow students to be successful and visually see their dreams come to life. Many of the activities such as models and learning tools that we are creating will help students to remember facts about their state. They will grow up with knowledge about their state to become responsible teenagers in a historical and democratic society.
