Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come to school with an innate love of technology and learning. They are curious and want to explore the world. "We cannot confine our children to our learning, for they were born in another time!"
My students are primarily first generation Americans.
They are eager and excited learners. Their families value education and are extremely supportive of their children's learning. My students' families often do not have the financial resources for educational materials and outings.
My Project
Our proposal is for a mini-lab of three Kindles with protective cases for use both inside and outside the classroom. My students would be able to check out and take home the Kindles to expand their learning. This would give them and their families instant access to a plethora of resources; a leveled library of books, a listening center, spelling, math with games and math facts practice, various learning games (apps) in all subject areas, a dictionary, a research library, a science lab, a vocabulary, flashcards for all subjects, phonics and so much more!
My students will have the opportunity to use their new Kindles in the classroom and at home.
The Kindles will give the children and their families the opportunity to explore math, reading, writing, science, social studies, phonics and vocabulary in a new and exciting way! The students will be using this technology to increase the learning of their entire family.
