Our school in Mesa, AZ has many low income families who receive free/reduced breakfast and lunch.
Keller is a multicultural community.
Special needs students are engaged in inclusion activities throughout the day.
We are using a program called AVID in our classroom. It needs many supplies for students to be successful. These supplies are sometimes difficult for our families to purchase. All our students are eager to learn and have grown through this program in the past. With budget cuts in our state, we do not have all the funds we need to purchase these materials through our school.
My Project
With these binders and notebooks, students will be able to have an organization system to collect notes, understand learning through note-taking, take pride in completed work and showcase lessons learned to family.
Having an organized 2" 3 ring notebook with subject folders will allow students to keep materials they need daily organized.
The pencil pouch will carry the materials they will need to use at school and at home to complete assignments.
The AVID program encourages the use of organization, note-taking, and pride.
As a low income area, it is difficult for many of our families to afford these required materials, yet they want to support their children the best they can.
