My students need a listening station junction box with volume controls and 4 listening center headphones.
I am a special education teacher working in an urban district with kindergarten and first grade classes in a high-need school.
My students need to be able to listen to stories to increase their comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary development. Our district's new reading program comes with compact discs of the leveled readers the students read from. I am fortunate to have a workable CD/tape player but do not have access to resources that would allow a small group of students to listen to stories on tape/compact discs.
A listening station junction box and a set of 4 headphones would provide my students with the opportunity to listen to stories in a small group setting and be actively engaged in their literacy learning.
Your donation will make it possible for my students to develop literacy and listening skills at this early level that will support them as they continue to grow as readers and thinkers.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
