My Students
My students are special to me because they have many challenges to overcome on any given day, and yet they come to school with an open mindset. Our school is in a low-income, high poverty region. My goal is to create an environment where students are creative and free to be themselves. To do so, I need to give students multiple opportunities to move and exercise, in order to optimize brain stimulation.
My students are energetic and enthusiastic and enjoy moving around, they are dreamers, thinkers, and questioners.
My Project
My project will improve the classroom environment and allow students to collaborate with one another throughout the day. It will also create a more spacious classroom and give it a home like feel.
By adding round marker board top tables students will feel a sense of choice and allow students flexible seating options throughout the classroom.
This will allow students to feel empowerment to work hard and gain a sense of classroom community.
The whiteboard tops will allow students to have a quick place to write answers to questions. They will have easy access to a surface for solving problems as well.
